Chenoa Ashton-Lewis comes from a winemaking family in Oakland; Will Basanta is a cinematographer. Since 2020, they have been experimenting with forgotten vineyards, adventurous grape blends, and zero/zero winemaking (that is, zero added, zero taken away). For ‘Moodring II’, they source Rhône varietals from the Sierra Foothills, the Central Coast, and Mendocino. Destemmed and fermented on the skins for 2-3 weeks, each varietal ages separately in neutral French oak. The final blend is bottled without fining, filtration, or any added sulfur. Deep ripe berry fruit with herbs, leather, and pepper spice. Organically grown, low-intervention/natural wine, vegan.
