Ashes & Diamonds Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2022

Ashes & Diamonds winery, a standout property located along the main highway in Napa Valley, California, boasts a sleek, minimalistic architectural design that reflects their winemaking style: light-handed, with lower-than-expected alcohol levels and a true expression of terroir. The winemaker, Diana Snowden Seysess, a Napa native, has extensive experience working in Burgundy, where she marries old-world finesse with new-world flavor. The fruit for this wine is sourced from the Oak Knoll District AVA, with Cabernet Sauvignon from the Rossi Vineyard and Merlot and Cabernet Franc from the A&D estate. Hand-harvested and fermented with native yeast in stainless steel tanks, the wine spends 18 months in French oak, 25% of which is new. Aromas of rich, dark fruits such as blackberry and currant meet savory leather, hints of tobacco, baking spices, and earthy notes on the palate. This is a limited wine, with only 360 cases produced in 2022. Organically grown, low-intervention/natural wine.
