The Tissot family has been producing wine in the Jura since 1962, with Stéphane and Bénédicte taking the reins from Stéphane's parents, André and Mireille. They have since acquired a formidable reputation as rockstars among the region's top winemakers, farming biodynamically since 2004 and striving to express the character of the Jura terroir above all else. Domaine Stéphane et Bénédicte Tissot is in Arbois, a commune located within Jura, about 30 miles west of Switzerland. It's an insular area that specializes in unique renditions of both classic and little-known grapes. This ‘Blanc de Noirs’ is 100% pinot noir from the region’s famed limestone soils (similar to those of Burgundy). It is aged in used barrels with zero dosage and no added sulfur. Bone-dry and wonderfully aromatic, it offers a delicate mousse and compelling notes of grapefruit and green apple with hints of smoke, toast, and savory spice dancing over a stony mineral core. Incredibly refined and complex yet lively and refreshing, this is an exquisite taste of Jura winemaking at its best. Biodynamically grown, low-intervention/natural wine, vegan.
