The Berthier family domain was founded in 1983 in the village of Sainte-Gemme-en-Sancerrois, in the heart of the Loire Valley. The domain is now led by brothers Clément and Florian, who oversee work in both the vineyards and the cellar. They pride themselves on farming sustainably and use no herbicides or pesticides on their 25 hectares of vines. Older brother Clément spent two years in Canada and the US as assistant winemaker at Soléna Estate in the Willamette Valley, and is in charge of winemaking and marketing duties. Younger brother Florian developed his winegrowing talents as a vigneron in settings as diverse as Burgundy, New Zealand, and Oregon, and now manages the domaine’s vineyards. This sauvignon blanc comes from vines grown in clay soils in the village of Menetou-Salon, to the west of Sancerre. With fresh and dried flowers on the nose, it has a textural palate of peach and a clean citrus finish. Certified organic, vegan.
