The Big Reveal

We would like to extend a big ol' thank you to all those that attended our guided deductive tasting. We had a blast! We promised we would follow up with the big reveal, so let's not torture you any further.

Wine One: Susana Esteban 'Aventura Branco' Alentejo 2022 - a Portuguese field blend of indigenous grapes, we just wish we knew which ones. Most folks guessed it was sauvignon blanc!

Wine Two: Wild Arc Farm 'Blackbird' Finger Lakes 2022 - a 60/40 co-ferment of noiret and riesling sourced from the Finger Lakes, so like, is it truly a red wine? Debate amongst yourselves. Chianti and Beaujolais were the most common guesses for this one.

Wine Three: Absentee Winery 'Red' Mendocino 2023 - a carignan dominated blend from a new-wave California producer. If you guessed it was a "red," you nailed it. Small victories are victories, nonetheless. This one was wacky! Folks guessed French, Italian, Californian and common grapes called were grenache, zinfandel, and merlot.

Bonus Wine: Niizawa Brewery 'Atago No Matsu' Tokubetsu Honjozo Sake - okay, so this one was mean. But it is wine! So you can't actually be that mad at us (we hope).

Our favorite guess of the evening? "Who cares, it's delicious... yumm!"
And isn't that what it's all about, after all.

We look forward to your company next week when we taste again from 4pm-7pm
:)
