Prisms and Rainbows: Refractions and Reflections

Optical prisms are able to refract and disperse light, separating it into its spectral components, ~*colors*~. Light is a fundamental particle that needs no medium to travel through - but what if we introduced a wine glass? Isaac Newton created the color wheel in 1666, showing how colors relate to each other. We can learn a lot from how we relate to color, exploring what those hues evoke in our minds and hearts. For how we experience color can be scientific as well as deeply personal, shaped by psychological and cultural experience. Colors can tell us a lot about the technical aspects of a wine, but they're also gonna make us feel something deep in the heartspaces! The science of rainbows doesn't divorce them from their magic, it simply provides context for contemplation. Let's look at some wines that made us go "whoa!" the first time we saw them and feel some feels.

Our palette: the hazy hued 2022 Pasta Buzz from Wein Goutte, the neon queen 2022 Colorwave from Lightwell Survey, the inkwell NV Moodring II from Ashanta Wines. Give 'em a swirl, they are super groovy in the glass.

Anyway, it's been kind of cloudy and grey these last few days and we were hoping to brighten them up with a full spectrum of pours. See you soon!
