Château de Fieuzal is located in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, and is named for the family who owned it up until the mid 1800s. Today, the estate boasts around 75 hectares of vineyards planted on rolling hills of fine, gravelly soils. Work in the vineyards and cellars is all done in painstakingly traditional fashion. The cépage for the 2015 vintage consists of 75% cabernet sauvignon, 10% merlot, 10% cabernet franc, and 5% petit verdot. True to the Château’s reputation for producing opulent, powerful red wines, this cuvée delivers expressive layers of blackberry, blackcurrant, raspberry, and black cherry, accompanied by hints of spices and a whiff of graphite. Generous and dense on the palate, the tannins are elegant and firm, while a playful tension persists between velvety texture and mouth watering freshness throughout a luxuriously lingering finish. A true classic.
