Domaine Cheveau sits in the hamlet of Solutré-Pouilly in the center of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. Established in 1950 by André Cheveau, the domaine’s 14 hectares of vines are now run by André’s grandsons, Nicholas and Julien. ‘Les Grandes Bruyères’ is made of chardonnay hand harvested from 40 year old vines on the iconic clay-limestone soils of Fuissé, lending an elegant richness characteristic of the wines of the Maconnais. After fermentation, the wine is raised in stainless steel with one year of lees contact. Graceful, bright sunny lemon zest and lemon cream on the nose lead into crisp, crunchy green apple flavors on the palate, accompanied by a squeeze of lemon juice and a stony mineral streak throughout a long, satisfying finish. Low-intervention/natural wine, vegan.
