Located in Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma, California, Claire Hill Wines was founded by Claire Hill. Fueled by her passion for Syrah, Claire gained firsthand experience in the Northern Rhône by working with winemaking expert Éric Texier before launching her brand. Grist Vineyard, planted in the early 1980s and organically farmed, sits high above Dry Creek at 1,000 feet of elevation. It benefits from the complexity of volcanic soil and cooling influences during the growing season. The wine is elegant, fresh, and complex, aging in neutral French oak barrels for 11 months. Well-structured with notes of blackberry, violet, and black pepper, it also features plum and earthy notes, lingering on the palate with a long, pleasant finish. Organically grown, low-intervention/natural wine.
