Vineyard/Cellar Practices Sustainably Grown

The Biotteau family manages a handful of vineyards in the Anjou-Villages area known as the Coteaux de l’Aubance, straddling the fault line that separates the Massif Armoricain and the Paris Basin. Fourth generation winemaker Pascal Biotteau takes full advantage of the unique characteristics of each terroir to create a balanced, subtle expression of chenin blanc. From vineyards near the village of Saint-Jean-de-Mauvrets, on the old Roman road from Angers to Poitiers, the limestone soils of Anjou Blanc provide palate-cleansing acidity while the wine picks up plenty of flinty minerality and rich texture from Anjou Noir. Taken together, this offers a snapshot-in-a-bottle of Anjou as a region, but perhaps more importantly, is a delicious bistro-style white wine that’s just perfect for sipping on sultry evenings! Classic chenin notes of apricot blossom and honey mingle with tangy fresh pineapple and green apple. Medium-bodied, this balances depth and texture on the palate with plenty of crisp acidity and a zesty mineral finish. Fabulous sipped with seafood, goat cheese salad, or as an aperitif. Sustainably grown.
