In a region known for history and tradition, Graeme and Julie Bott are quite literally breaking new ground. Driven by a passion for the northern Rhône and the area’s rocky soils, they started out by planting vines by hand, with their garage serving as a makeshift cellar. They’ve since grown from those unassuming beginnings into a domaine that now spans 7 ha across renowned appellations including Condrieu, Côte-Rôtie, Saint-Joseph, and Seyssuel, all farmed using sustainable and organic practices. This syrah is hand harvested from 15 year old vines and destemmed before fermentation is initiated by wild yeasts in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine ages for 10 months in French oak barrels before bottling. Black and red fruit accompanied by cracked black pepper dances across a lithe palate with firm tannins and a long, elegant finish. Absolutely delicious now, but can age for 5-10 years as well! Organically grown, low-intervention/natural wine.
