The vineyards of Domaine Ferrandière are planted on the hillsides of Saint Frichoux and on the old saltwater marsh of Marseillette. Controlled flooding of the vineyards in the winter removes the salinity from the soils, while also protecting the vines from frost damage. The unique clay soils are not susceptible to phylloxera, allowing the domaine to plant ungrafted vines, which are sustainably farmed (certified by Terra Vitis). This is 100% cabernet sauvignon from 20-30 year-old vines growing on clay-limestone soils with about 45% of it being aged in neutral French and American oak while the rest stays in stainless steel. Medium bodied, this provides generous blackberry and blackcurrant fruit flavors, with hints of dark chocolate and earth on the finish. Certified sustainable.
