Domaine Rouges-Queues 'En Buliet' Maranges AOC Rouge 2021

From one hectare of Maranges vineyards in 1998, Isabelle and Jean-Yves Vantey have built both a winery and a reputation for producing show stopping, biodynamically made wines. Today the estate encompasses 5.6 hectares across 10 appellations, farmed utilizing both organic and biodynamic practices, with grapes hand harvested by a devoted crew of friends and fermentation occurring spontaneously with wild indigenous yeasts. This exquisite pinot noir comes from the original small parcel in Maragnes that the winery was founded on. The oldest vines of this parcel, planted on the lower slopes in the Dheune River valley, date back to 1934. The age of the vines and high clay content of the soils lend depth, breadth, and texture to this elegant cuvée. Aromas of baked cherry and damp earth yield to a silky medium-weight palate that delivers succulent layers of dark fruit over velvety tannins on a luxuriously long finish. Organically grown, biodynamically grown, low-intervention/natural wine.
