Eno-Trio, led by Nunzio Puglisi and his daughters Stefany and Désirée, is located in Randazzo on the northern side of Mt. Etna in Sicily. Benefiting from volcanic soils and high elevations, the winery produces distinct wines. Nunzio, with over 30 years of experience, started making wine under his own label in 2012. The 3-hectare estate practices organic farming and low-intervention winemaking, using indigenous yeasts. Eno-Trio wines are not fined or filtered, reflecting their true terroir. This wine is produced from a one-hectare vineyard on the slopes of Etna, using two separate harvests. The must from the first harvest is pressed off the skins and added to the grapes and skins of the second harvest, allowing for a 30-day maceration. The wine is then aged in steel for two months before bottling. The blend consists of 90% Gewürztraminer (locally known as Traminer Aromatico) and 10% Moscato. Bright orange in color, it has a fragrant and fruity nose of pink grapefruit, citrus, and a hint of lychee. The palate is fresh and citrusy, with a fair amount of tannin, leading to a lovely, dry finish. Organically grown, biodynamically grown, low-intervention/natural wine.
