Eva Fricke Riesling Trocken Rheingau 2022

Eva Fricke is growing some of the most exciting rieslings in the Rheingau these days. From her steeply sloping vineyards overlooking the Rhine, she produces a flawless line of wines grown with organic and biodynamic methods. Not having inherited vineyards or a family winemaking tradition, she has built up her operation—vineyard by vineyard and cuvée by cuvée—from a modest start in 2006. This Rheingau Trocken (dry) riesling ferments in stainless steel and ages for several months on the fine lees. The 2022 growing season proved to be sunny and hot, with the majority of the major rain storms coming near harvest time, in September. Eva’s healthy vines were able to adapt well to challenging conditions, and the resulting wine shines with the subtle character and refined elegance that fans of her wines have come to expect. Beautiful salty minerality frames a focused but unobtrusive lemon and lime zest palate. Certified organic, biodynamically grown, low-intervention/natural wine, vegan.
