Fatalone Primitivo Gioia del Colle DOC 2022

This beautiful 100% Primitivo from Puglia, Italy, demonstrates a level of freshness that bucks the stereotype of the grape as bold and overbearing. The grapes are grown in the Murge hills in the Gioia del Colle DOC in rocky, fossil laden vineyards that are dry farmed and certified organic. Only stainless steel is used for fermentation, and after 9 months the wine is transferred to large, used Slovenian oak vessels for another 3 months. After 9 months in bottle, the wine is released. Big but balanced, this wine boasts notes of black cherry and toasted almond along with rustic earthy notes. A perfect pairing for aged cheeses or grilled meats thanks to its high acidity. Certified organic, sustainably grown, low-intervention/natural wine.
