Winding its way between the Hudson Highlands and the base of Storm King Mountain, the Hudson River enters one of the oldest Fjords in North America and creates a unique microclimate that allows high quality grapes to be grown in the Hudson Valley. The magnificent landscape was the inspiration behind the name of this winery, Fjord Vineyards, founded in 2013 by Matthew Spaccarelli and Casey Erdmann. There, the husband and wife aim to produce elegant sustainable wines that speak to the distinct character of the region. This albariño exemplifies their mission. Made from one of the few New York plantings of this Spanish grape, it showcases enticing tropical fruit and mineral aromas that lead into a full and exuberant palate of orchard fruit, peaches and spicy white blossom.
