Freelander is the result of a partnership between Mike O’Connell and winemaker Larry Levin, who is known for his three decades of winemaking experience in Napa with brands such as Quintessa and Turnbull. Freelander cabernet is made in St. Helena, CA, with grapes harvested from select sustainably farmed vineyards throughout the state. Grapes were cold soaked for 4-5 days, then pressed and fermented in stainless steel. Aging took place over 10 months in a combination of French and American oak (approximately 20% new oak). Dark and delicious, Freelander embodies the smooth richness of California cabs. Deep blackberry and black raspberry fruit mingle with luscious notes of roast coffee, chocolate, campfire, and sandalwood. Full-bodied with well-integrated tannins, this is a satisfying sip with BBQ, mushroom burgers, or anytime you’re craving a lush, versatile cab at an approachable price. Sustainably grown.
