Young vigneron Jérôme Galaup comes from a family with four generations of winemaking experience in the Tarn region of Gaillac. While he cherishes those deep roots and has an intense commitment to the history and authenticity of his terroir, his signature winemaking style is daring, innovative and modern. Jérôme took over the family estate, “La Ferme du Vert” (“the green farm”) in 2017, and cultivates 7 hectares of vines in a picturesque location nestled on the edge of the Grésigne forest. ‘L’Angelou’ is made from the muazac vert grape, a fairly obscure white grape traditional to Gaillac, via methode ancestrale (also known as methode Gaillacoise). Bone dry, this is a garden party in a bottle. Intensely floral and mineral, it bursts with notes of yellow pear, green apple, and splashes of lime blossom and celery salt, all dancing over a nutty, textured finish. Perfect with quiche, fried foods, sushi or other fish dishes, or just enjoyed by itself. Organically grown, biodynamically grown, low-intervention/natural wine.
