Aurélien Laherte is one of a cohort of younger vignerons in Champagne to lead their family estates simultaneously toward sustainable farming practices and precise, low-dosage bottlings. Like his friend Raphaël Bérèche—another superstar grower-producer of their generation—Aurélien has shown the world how ecologically responsible farming and careful winemaking can produce distinctive, bright, floral, and complex Champagnes. Taken from vineyards on the southern slopes of Épernay and the Côte des Blancs, the chardonnay for this cuvée includes 50% reserve wine and receives zero dosage. Buttery with a touch of richness and a whiff of vanilla blossom on the nose, its textural palate of peach and pear finishes with salty minerality. Sustainably grown.
