Nestled in a little hamlet within the village of Les Hauts Mortiers a Gorges sits the 10 hectares of Les Vins de Lavie, a fifth generation biodynamic farm planted almost entirely with the region’s iconic melon de Bourgogne grape. Guillaume Lavie, along with his partner, Adèle Lemoine, runs the domaine today, having returned to the Loire after years spent making wine under his name in Savoie. The domaine lies in a cool spot south of the Loire River where the climate is defined by the influence of the nearby Atlantic Ocean. Farmed organically and biodynamically, vinified in concrete and aged on the lees, this muscadet has character to spare. Bracing and briny, it layers complex waves of green apple, lime, chamomile, and crushed seashells over a texture that is simultaneously mouth filling and mouth watering! Organically grown, biodynamically grown, low-intervention/natural wine.
