Create an accountLos Dos is the result of a collaborative partnership between American entrepreneur Jeremy Levine and the Vivanco family, among the most highly esteemed tequila-producing families in Mexico. Seeking to produce clean, honest tequila at an approachable price, Los Dos is produced in Arandas, Los Altos, Jalisco, and is the first tequila on the market to have the “no additives” term on the label. The Vivanco family have been growing agave in Arandas (the iconic tequila growing community in Los Altos, Jalisco), since the 1920s. Today the family’s Destiliería el Ranchito (NOM 1414) is in the hands of fifth-generation jimador and third-generation tequilero, Sergio Vivanco. 100% Blue Weber agave is farmed organically and harvested at 6-10 years of age. It is roasted in brick ovens and crushed using a roller mill before fermentation occurs in stainless steel (accompanied by the strains of classical music playing in the background.) Twice distilled in traditional copper alembic pot stills, this unaged Highlands blanco bursts with character. Aromas of ripe cherry, white pepper, and arugula are followed by a sweet, viscous palate with notes of dried herbs, a dusting of cocoa powder, and a subtle salinity on the finish.
