Jean François Coutelou has been in the vanguard of natural winemaking for decades, having achieved organic certification back in 1987. A vast array of biodiversity abounds at his estate in the village of Puimisson, which is nestled between the mountains and the sea in the south of France. The domain’s vineyards are surrounded by thousands of olive, fig, and almond trees planted by Jean François on soils that never see chemical intervention. This exuberant blend of grenache, syrah, and mourvèdre is a captivating melange of layered dark and red fruit interspersed with bursts of floral and savory notes and wisps of smoke. Sturdy, sultry, sophisticated: somehow all these elements come together into a bottle that can be summed up in one word - delicious! Certified organic, low-intervention/natural wine.
