Paolo Bea is one of the most recognized and respected producers in Italy. The Bea family can be traced back to the 1500’s, with roots in farming and winemaking in Montefalco. Committed to low intervention and natural winemaking, Paolo and his son, Giampiero, craft exquisite wines that capture the essence of the terroir they hail from. The fruit for all three varietals in this wine is sourced from the fifty year old San Valentino Vineyard in Montefalco, which sits at 1,300 feet of elevation and is composed primarily of clay soils. After 30 days of maceration, the wine spends 3 years in stainless steel and additional time in the bottle before being released. Full bodied and concentrated, this wine boasts savory notes of dark chocolate, black cherry, plum, allspice, and clove. Elevated acidity contributes freshness while the tannins give the wine structure, resulting in a perfectly balanced wine. Organically grown, low-intervention, natural wine, vegan.
