Domaine des Rouges-Queues Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes-de-Beaune AOC Blanc 2021

From one hectare of Maranges vineyards in 1998, Isabelle and Jean-Yves Vantey have built both a winery and a reputation for producing show stopping, biodynamically made wines. Today the estate encompasses 5.6 hectares across 10 appellations, farmed utilizing both organic and biodynamic practices, with grapes hand harvested by a devoted crew of friends and fermentation occurring spontaneously with wild indigenous yeasts. This chardonnay from Hautes-Côtes-de-Beaune is made from direct pressed whole clusters, with barrel aging and minimal sulfur used. It is bottled without fining or filtration. Fresh and bright, elegant aromas of lime, honeysuckle, lemon blossom, and hazelnut lead into a palate of round, silky texture, over a core of lemon zest and mineral. Organically grown, biodynamically grown, low-intervention/natural wine.
