A spectacular statement-making sip: this salmon-hued rosato is a blend of 85% nebbiolo and 15% vespolina grown in the Orolungo and Brusnengo regions of Alto-Piemonte. The soils are a combination of marine sands and volcanic rock, along with glacial sediment and veins of clay, and are fairly acidic and rich in minerals such as iron, manganese, aluminum, and zinc. Organically grown grapes are sourced from four different vineyards, including the famed Madonna degli Angeli vineyard, where the vines are 45-90 years old. All this adds up to a masterpiece of complexity, elegance, and structure. Far from a whisper-light quaff, ‘Rosa del Rosa’ delivers layers of bright red berries, savory peach, and zesty orange peel, with accents of white pepper, wild chamomile, and a saline mineral streak all backed by a vibrant core of acidity that just screams for food. A delightfully lengthy and elegant finish wraps up each sip - just in time for the next one! Organically grown, low-intervention/natural wine.
