Stagård Riesling Kremstal DAC Ried Steiner Pfaffenberg 2019

Urban and Dominique Stagård have been making wine at their family estate since 2006, becoming the seventh generation to do so since 1786. The estate, dating back to 1424, is located near Krems and features a nearly 1000-year-old cellar established by Benedictine monks. The estate was converted to organic farming, achieving certification in 2009. The Stagårds primarily grow Riesling and Grüner Veltliner on their 17 hectares, emphasizing biodiversity, low-intervention winemaking, and traditional practices in their cellar. This wine showcases the unique terroir of the esteemed Pfaffenberg vineyard, offering a complex nose of honeyed peach juice, nectarine, and candied orange. Well-structured with lively acidity, this wine is smooth, rich, and unctuous with a beautiful, harmonious long finish. Certified organic, low-intervention/natural wine.
