Cantina Terlano is nestled in the winegrowing village of Terlano, located halfway between the South Tyrol’s main towns of Merano and Bolzano. There the village and vineyards are tucked against the rocky slopes of Monte Tschöggi on the left bank of the broad Adige River valley. Founded in 1893, in the centuries since its inception this cooperative has grown to one of the most respected producers in the region, and now has over 200 winegrowing families as members. Alto Adige is Italy’s northernmost province (at the same latitude as Burgundy), and is home to a unique combination of Alpine-meets-Mediterranean influences. Terlano’s vineyards contain a large percentage of old vines planted on steeply terraced red volcanic soils that provide ideal exposure to both the sun and cool alpine winds. Their pinot bianco has earned a reputation as one of the region’s standout white wines, with great aging potential - if you can resist the urge to drink it all now! Classically styled, this absolutely shimmers on the palate with pristine notes of yellow pear and apple, crisp acidity, and a beautifully rounded mineral-driven texture that provides a luxurious mouthfeel while remaining elegantly chiseled. Sustainably grown.
