Cristian Tombacco is a third generation winemaker in Biferno, a tiny appellation nestled in the south of Italy between Abruzzo to the north and Campania to the south. This medium-bodied blend of 80% montepulciano and 20% aglianico is zesty and savory, with bright red plum fruit and plum skin, crushed herbs, hints of tobacco, and a food-friendly frame of lifted acidity and gently rustic tannins.
