Chateau Tour St. Bonnet is an esteemed cru bourgeois estate in the commune of St-Christoly, located at the far north of the Medoc. The chateau’s 40 hectares of vines are situated on the gravel hillsides of Saint Bonnet overlooking the Gironde estuary. Fourth generation vigneron Jacques Merlet favors a restrained approach to oak in his winemaking, and therefore matures his wine for 18 months in large foudres instead of the more common smaller barriques. This classic Medoc displays structured layers of crushed berries, cassis, and forest floor, accompanied by grainy tannins and well balanced acidity.
