They say love can be found in the most unlikely of places, for instance, amongst clusters of grapes in the winding rows of vines in an Austrian vineyard. This was in fact the very setting for the beginning of the story of Wein Goutte, an organic winery and farm located in Franken, Germany, helmed by life partners Emily and Christophe who met and fell in love while working the 2018 harvest in Burgenland. Both former chefs turned winemakers, their nuanced and intricate understanding of flavors and textures translates into bottles that are energized, electric, and singularly unique. A blend of all of their white grapes, hybrids and non-hybrids alike, ‘Pasta Buzz’ is an eclectic concoction of Dr. Frankenstein’s feverish dreams. Direct press? Check. Partial skin-contact? You betcha. Full skin-contact? Why not? Stainless steel and neutral oak aging? No problem. Just blend and bottle.
