“Wines of the People” is the prevailing philosophy of Zuccardi’s Polígonos: the vineyards are named after the people of the region, and the selection of grape varietals represents an expression of place that encompasses geography and climate as well as historical and socioeconomic factors. Third generation winemaker Sebastián Zuccardi, along with a team of enologists, continue their focus on producing wines of exemplary quality and character by blending innovation and tradition. The Uco Valley of Mendoza is defined by its proximity to the Andes, with the mountains providing a distinct influence on the wines of the area. If a bottle of wine can be a journey, this one takes the drinker on an adventure through the villages scattered throughout the valley, each with its own unique terroir. Viewed on a map, the connections between the villages form geometric images, evoking the eponymous polygon (“Poligonos”). This unoaked malbec displays layers of cherry, red berry, spices, and crushed herbs, accompanied by gently integrated tannins. A distinctive freshness keeps it lively on the palate throughout.
